ALPFA BARUCH INVITES YOU TO THE 3RD ANNUAL BUSINESS BANQUET AWARDS DINNER


“We must be the change we wish to see in the world

On behalf of the Baruch Chapter of ALPFA, we cordially invite you to our 3rd Annual Business Banquet Awards Dinner which is set to take place on Friday, April 23rd at Baruch College (VC 14-220) from 5:00 PM – 8:15 PM.

The business banquet is our culminating event of the year. It is a time to bring together everyone that has supported the Baruch ALPFA Chapter as well as to recognize those individuals who have charitably contributed to the success of our chapter.

This year’s theme is ALPFA: Inspiring individuals, building relationships, changing the world.” Our interactive speaker for the evening will be Dan Black, Director of Americas Campus Recruiting for Ernst and Young. Our keynote speaker for the evening will be confirmed shortly.

There will be 50 – 60 professionals representing several fortune 500 companies including but not limited to: Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, E&Y, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Abbott Laboratories, Johnson and Johnson and many more.

RE: ALPFA REGIONAL STUDENT SYMPOSIUM

As a follow-up to previous emails, as we approach the event dates, ALPFA National kindly requests your participation as ALPFA Student Chapter leaders, for assistance in:

FOR YOUR REFERENCE AND TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOUR MEMBERS SHOULD ASK, I HAVE ALSO ATTACHED A MORE DETAILED AGENDA FOR YOUR REFERENCE REGARDING THE EVENT’S STRUCTURE AND DETAILS.

  • Participating and representing your ALPFA student chapter in event

o   ALPFA encourages participation from your student chapter/members

o   The symposiums are meant to be seen as a pre-cursor to the ALPFA National Convention.

o   In a more focused setting, the symposiums aim to provide an opportunity to learn about career and/or internship opportunities through professional workshops and networking with recruiters and student colleagues from region

  • Disseminating information on the Symposiums down to your ALPFA members and student colleagues

o   Support needed in marketing event to students (GRAPHIC; SAVE THE DATE INCLUDED)

o   Assistance in disseminating information to:

§  ALPFA student base and Non-ALPFA student contacts

§  School departments, career centers, etc.

§  ALPFA Student chapter Website

§  ALPFA Student chapter  newsletters/bulletins

§  ALPFA Student chapter Upcoming events

This event will bring together students focused on business, accounting and finance for a day of insight, guidance, leadership skills and professional opportunities that will provide them an edge in today’s competitive job market.

Through workshops and panel discussions, students will be exposed to the realities of job-searching and empowered to succeed in face of today’s economic hardships.  Afterwards, we will hold a Career Fair where students will have the opportunity to put their new skills to practice when meeting with prospective employers.

  • Theme of the program: Your Future in Your Hands
  • Focus Areas will include: Internship preparedness, Academic preparedness/knowledge, Career development

With participation from ALPFA student chapters in these respective regions, the symposiums will be held in-

San Antonio: April 10

Open to Texas schools (Open to students from TX, NM, CO, and AR)

San Diego: April 17

Open to Western and Southwestern region schools (Open to students from AZ, CA, UT, OR, WA NV)

Tampa: April 17

Open to Florida and Southern region schools

Washington DC: April 24

Open to Northeastern region schools

Chicago: April 24

Open to Midwest schools
